DR JENNIFER PONTRÉ

Dr Jennifer Pontré is a specialist gynaecologist and AGES-accredited Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with particular expertise in endometriosis and complex minimally invasive surgery.
She completed her medical degree with honours at the University of Western Australia before obtaining Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Dr Pontré then undertook a prestigious two-year Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES) Fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery and endometriosis at King Edward Memorial Hospital, followed by an additional surgical fellowship at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Her clinical practice focuses on complex benign gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, menstrual disorders, and colposcopic abnormalities. She offers patients state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical treatments, underpinned by her advanced laparoscopic training.

Dr Pontré holds a public consultant appointment in the Endoscopy Unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital, where she is actively involved in teaching, mentoring, and research. She has a strong commitment to improving equity in women’s health and regularly provides specialist outreach care to the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, as well as consulting at Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service.
She has held several leadership roles within the hospital system, including Head of Gynaecology and Head of the Emergency Department, reflecting her commitment to clinical excellence, service delivery, and medical leadership. She has been chair of both the RANZCOG and AGES Annual Scientific Meetings in Perth, highlighting her leadership within the profession and her ongoing contribution to surgical education and academic advancement. She is a current AGES Board Member and accredited AGES Training Supervisor.
In 2023, Dr Pontré was awarded a Churchill Fellowship, enabling her to undertake multiple international observerships at world-renowned centres of excellence for endometriosis surgery. This experience has deepened her knowledge of global best practices in the management of endometriosis and complex benign gynaecological conditions.
